Error: "You currently have Sage 50 installed"

Summary

Steps to resolve "You currently have Sage 50 installed. If you want to install a different Sage 50 Accounting product, you must uninstall the current one before installing the new one" when trying to install Sage 50 Accounting.

Cause

You’ll see this error if you try to install Sage 50 on a computer that already has the same version installed. To find out which edition is on your computer, go to the Windows Control Panel and check under Add/Remove Programs.

Resolution

Verify what version of Sage 50 is installed

  1. Go to the Start button and type 'Programs'.
  2. Select Add or Remove a program.
  3. Locate Sage 50 Accounting in the list of Apps & Features.

Download the latest version from the Sage 50 Download Portal or Add a new shortcut icon to the desktop to use the version that is already installed.
