Summary
Possible causes for transactions not showing in the Sage 50 Accounting bank reconciliation window.
Cause
- Incorrect Statement Start Date and/or Statement End Date
- Prior Outstanding hasn’t been added yet
- Transactions are entered as historical when in History mode
- Selecting the wrong account
Resolution
Option 1: Verify date
- Verify the bank transaction is entered in Sage 50 on the proper date
- The transaction date must be on or prior to the Statement End date in the bank rec module
Option 2: If there are outstanding transactions not yet cleared from the previous months
- Click on the Add Prior Outstanding button
- Select the date of earliest transaction to be added beside Show Resolved Trans On or After
- Tab to next field and it will show the list of transactions from the Resolve Transactions
- Select the transaction to be added and click the Add button
- In case you cannot find a transaction that is still outstanding, click the Insert Outstanding button to manually enter the outstanding transactions
- Click OK
- The outstanding and current transactions will then display in the Transactions tab of Reconciliation & Deposits window
Option 3: If there are no outstanding transactions from the previous months
- Click on the Add Prior Outstanding button
- Click OK and it will show you the current transactions in the Transactions tab of Reconciliation & Deposits window
- If this is not the first bank reconciliation, check whether or not the Statement End Date is entered with the proper date
Note:
- If you are doing the first bank reconciliation, Add Outstanding Transactions window will show only the transactions prior to the date of your bank Statement Start Date.
- Also, any historical transactions entered while in History mode will not appear and will have to be inserted one by one as per the instructions in Option 2, step 5.
