Error: "Invalid date, the transaction must be between date and date" when trying to post before the earliest transaction date in a company files first fiscal year.

Description

Cause

  • The date is outside the fiscal year
  • The date is more than two years past
  • The date is before the earliest transaction date
  • The date is in a future year

Resolution

  1. Select a valid date for the transaction
  2. If you are in a newly created company file and the Earliest Transaction date is wrong, you can also change it, re-create the company file, or restore a backup (if you opened a new year) with the right Earliest Transaction date.
