How to create Inventory and Service categories

Summary

How to create Inventory and Service categories in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

  1. Go to Setup, Settings, Inventory & Services, Categories
     NOTE: (Inventory Categories are only available in Premium or Higher).

  2. Select the check box for My company uses Categories for inventory and service items.
  3. Type your category names in the Category box (one category per line).
  4. Select the Category to which you want to assign items and then click Assign Items.
  5. Select one or more items in the Items not in this category list, and click Select or Select All.

 NOTE: If you’re re-assigning an item to a new category, Sage 50 automatically removes it from the old category.
