How to start or stop calculating vacation on overtime pay or holidays

Summary

Change the income settings in payroll to stop or start calculating vacation on overtime pay or statutory holidays in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

  1. Go to File, Switch to Single-user mode if you haven't done so already.
  2. Go to Setup, Settings, Payroll, then Income.
  3. Select the Overtime income or the Statutory income.
  4. Find the Calc Vac. column and check or uncheck that column, as appropriate.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Create a paycheque and verify the vacation hours/amounts are correct for the overtime or statutory holiday.

 NOTE: All provinces except Alberta and Manitoba require vacation calculation on overtime pay for regular earnings.
