Summary
Description
When trying to pull in service plan information, the message "Your service plan information could not be retrieved. Connect to the internet and retry retrieving this information again. If you always work offline, you may manually enter a payroll ID." appears.
Resolution
Temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus
Firewalls and antiviruses can block Sage 50 from connecting to the internet. Temporarily turn off any firewall installed and go to help, update service plan, and then check service plan. Re-activate the firewall after the service plan information has been pulled in successfully.
Resolve DNS issues
DNS issues will prevent Sage 50 from pulling in service plan information.
Manually activate
Note: This will only activate payroll. This will not unlock any feature that requires an active cloud service plan.
- Bypass the activation message.
- Open Sage 50.
- Go to Help, Activate.
- Enter the Company Name, Serial Number, Account ID in the product activation window.
- Choose Use this Key Code and enter the Sage 50 Activation Key Code manually.
- Select OK.
- Open a Sage 50 company file.
- Go to Help, Update Service Plan.
- Verify the Account ID is correct.
- Select Enter Payroll ID and enter the Payroll ID.
- Select OK.
Reinstall Sage 50
Do a basic reinstall of Sage 50 if the program won't activate manually with the firewall and/or antivirus temporarily disabled.
