Where are the automatic backups located?

How to locate the Sage 50 Accounting automatic backup files saved on your computer.

Resolution

  1. Go to Setup, Settings, Company, Backup.
  2. Under the Scheduled Backup section, note the path location next to Create local backup.
    • the location for automatic backups defaults to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Sage Software\Simply Accounting\backups\year\companyname but can be changed
    • If the field is blank, there are no automatic backups 
  3. Go to your File Explorer and follow the path indicated to locate your backup files.
