How to resolve when Sage 50 Accounting freezes after trying to post a transaction.
Resolution
Verify there is only one antivirus program and there are no pending Windows updates
- Open the Control Panel then Programs & Features (or Add/Remove Programs).
- Verify if you have more than one antivirus software installed. If you have more than one, uninstall them until you only keep one antivirus.
- Restart the computer.
- If you have any pending Windows Updates awaiting installation, then install them then reboot.
Reinstall Sage 50 Accounting
- Uninstall Sage 50.
- Disable your antivirus.
- Open an explorer window (Win + E keys).
- Go to C:\Sage\
- Open the folder containing the latest version of Sage 50.
- Go to the \Setup\ folder.
- Right-click the setup.exe file.
- Click Run as administrator.
- Follow the screen and proceed with the installation of Sage 50.
- Reboot.
Run Sage 50 as an administrator
- Every time you use Sage 50, right-click the Sage 50 Accounting shortcut icon on your desktop then select Run as administrator.
- Alternatively, you can right-click it once then
- Click Properties.
- Click Compatibility.
- Add a checkmark to Run this program as an administrator.
