Why can't I allocate transactions to projects?

Summary

Allocating transactions to projects.

Description

Cause

  • Account is not set to project allocation
  • No security permissions to access enabling of project allocation

Resolution

Main Step:

  1. Under Company, click on Accounts.
  2. Double-click the account that will be used in the transaction.
  3. Add a checkmark to Allow Project Allocations.
  4. Save and Close.

For Invoices:

  1. Fill in the information for the invoice and then click on Project Column at the end of detail line.
  2. Select the Projects where amounts should be allocated and put the proper amounts or percentages.
  3. Click OK to save.

For General Journal:

  1. Open General Journal window.
  2. Enter the accounts to be debited and credited with respective amounts.
  3. Under the "Allow" column, double-click.
    • Or click on the blue checkmark on the top right
  4. In the Project Allocation window, click on the magnifying glass to select the projects.
  5. Enter Amount or Percentage
  6. Click OK to save.
  7. Post.

For Payroll Journal:

  1. Open Payroll Journal window.
  2. Fill in all related information.
  3. On top right corner of Payroll Journal screen, click to allocate the amounts.
  4. Select the Projects where amounts should be allocated and put the proper amounts or percentages.
  5. Click OK to save.
