Summary

How to find journal entries that caused the "Data inconsistencies have been detected" error to appear on the Integrity Summary window.

Resolution

  • It is possible to post to linked accounts:
    • with the Accountants Edition
    • by unlinking accounts in the Linked Accounts Wizard (unlinking is not recommended)

Step I: Look for the linked account of the data integrity issue

  1. Go to Maintenance, Check Data Integrity
  2. Identify the item with a " * "

  3. Click OK
  4. Go to Setup, Wizards, Linked Accounts...
  5. Click Next until you get the applicable account name / number

Step II: Search for the journal entry

  1. Go to Reports, Transaction Details / Journal Entries, General.
  2. Select a Report on Fiscal Year (all years should be searched) and ensure the Start and Finish Date are appropriate.
  3. Click OK.
  4. On the General Journal Report, go to Options, Find in this Report.
  5. Type the linked account number in the Find box.

    • click Find Next
  6. The search should pull up a highlight of the account number.

    • you can double click on the journal entry number to open the transaction
  7. You may want to speak to an accountant about voiding / deleting the general journal entry and posting the entry in the (in this example above it is the Purchase Invoice) module instead.
    • in some instances the journal entry might be too old for you to void
