Summary

How to bypass the error "There’s an error when connecting to the server. Please check your Internet connection and try again" in Sage 50 Accounting.

Description

This workaround allows you to access Sage 50 without needing to contact support for this issue. If you've already contacted support and successfully connected your companies, there's no need to install this workaround.

Resolution

Install this workaround on all computers that have Sage 50 installed excluding server-only installs
  1. Ensure you have Sage 50 2025.1 on your computer.
  2. Close Sage 50 on this computer.
  3. Download Sage50CA_2025.1_Update.exe.
  4. Right-click on the Sage50CA_2025.1_Update.exe file and choose Run as Administrator.
  5. Choose your preferred language and select OK.
  6. After installing the workaround file, open Sage 50.
  7. Close the Sage Account login window or the error connecting to the server error if prompted.
  8. Follow the steps again if you're unable to log in or exit out of the messages successfully.
  9. Contact Sage Support at 1-888-522-2722 if you're still unable to open.

 NOTE: You'll still need to log in with your Sage Account if using Remote Data Access.
