Cause
- Performance issues with files shared through Remote Data Access
Resolution
Factors that could have an affect on Remote Data Access Multi-user (and even Single User) performance:
- For best performance the recommended internet upload/download speeds of at least 25mbps; minimum upload/download speeds of 10mbps
- Ways the local network may be using data being sent/received (esp. streaming video, downloading large files, system updates being downloaded or in progress)
- Demands on local network traffic (video surveillance cameras, data interchange for any program or automated processes)
- Size of database and number of records/transactions for certain operations, such as reporting
- Number of users logged in concurrently and throughput of data (how fast are people posting, how many people attempting to post, concurrency of posting attempts)
- Network connections latency
- Local PC environmental issue (amount of disk space, memory, CPU, router etc..)
- Security software (anti-virus, firewall)
- Network bandwidth
