How to use the Company File Check & Repair utility

Summary

Use the Company File Check & Repair utility (Sage_SA_DBVerifier.exe) to repair data corruption issues in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

  1. Make sure Sage 50 is open.
  2. Go to File, Properties, and note the name and the location of your file.
  3. Close Sage 50.
  4. Click the Windows Start button.
  5. Select Programs, then Sage, then Sage 50 that corresponds to the version you’re currently using.
  6. Click Company File Check & Repair.
  7. When the next window appears click on the browse button and navigate, to the location you noted earlier.
  8. Once you find the file, double-click on the company file with the SAI extension. The file is 1kb in size and the file type is Sage 50 Data File.
  9. Select the option for Advance check & repair.
  10. Be patient as this takes a few moments depending on the size of your file.
  11. As the utility is working, if it finds errors it will prompt you to fix them.
  12. Click Yes to fix.
  13. Once the task is complete, you'll see the Company File Check & Repair window again.
  14. The Company File Check & Repair is now complete. Click the X button to close.
