Summary

How to solve the issue of transactions not posting or processing in the Quantum version of Sage 50 Canadian Edition.

Resolution

  1. Ensure that all the workstations and servers use the latest release of Sage 50.
  2. Go to the computer or server that stores the data.
  3. Ensure all users are closed out of the Sage 50 data file.
  4. Disable the Sage 50 Transaction Manager from your Services list.
    • Go to services.msc
    • Scroll down to the Sage 50 Transaction Manager 20XX* - CDN
    • Right-click on it and go to Properties
    • Change the Startup Type to Disable
  5. Right-click on the Sage 50 Transaction Manager. Click Stop.
  6. Browse to the location where the data is stored. Ensure the SAJ folder doesn’t contain the process.pid file.
  7. Ensure that all data files are closed.
  8. Terminate the Transaction Manager if it’s running.
    • Open the Task Manager by right-clicking on it
    • Go to the Processes tab, enable show processes from all users, and end all mysqld.exe or mysqld-nt.exe processes running
    • Terminate 'Sage_SA.Transaction Manager.exe' if it’s running
  9. Open your company in Sage 50 in Single-user Mode.
  10. You’ll get the message "Transaction Manager isn’t running". Click Yes or OK.
  11. When you get the message 'There are some unprocessed transactions', click Yes.
  12. You can now Post or Discard the unprocessed transactions.
  13. Enable the Sage 50 Transaction Manager on your Services list.
    • Go to Control PanelAdministrative ToolsServices
    • Scroll down to the Sage 50 Transaction Manager
    • Right-click on it and go to Properties
    • Change the Startup Type to Manual
  14. Reinstall the latest version of Sage 50.
  15. Re-try posting the transactions.
