Why the on hand quantity in the inventory record does not match the Inventory Summary report?

The item has quantity in different locations.

Compare Inventory & Services records and Inventory Summary report:

1. In Inventory & Services, under Quantities tab, select All Locations
2. Run Inventory Summary report, click Select Locations and highlight all locations. Check off the box for Show location information.
3. The Inventory Summary report should match the Inventory & Services records screen

Compare Inventory & Services records and Sales Invoice journal

1. In Sales Invoice journal, take notes of the location in Ship from field
2. Select the item and check the quantity
3. In the Inventory & Services records, under Quantities tab, select the same location
4. The amount should match.
