How to remove your 2-factor authentication (2FA) device that you use to authenticate logging into your Sage account.

Description

Even though you can't disable the 2FA requirement for your Sage account, you can remove the current device that you use for it. This is useful, for example, if:

  • You'd like to move to the Sage Verify mobile app
  • You want to authenticate using an authenticator app instead of SMS text
  • You want to authenticate using SMS text instead of a phone call
  • You need to set up 2FA on a new phone
  • You need to authenticate using a different phone number
  • You're resetting 2FA as part of troubleshooting 2FA issues

Once you remove your current device you can set up a new one, for example a different option such as the Sage Verify app.

Resolution

  1. Go to Account Management at account.sso.sage.com and log in.

    NOTE:

    If you can't authenticate to log into Account Management, use your backup method instead to reset 2FA.

  2. Select Protect your account.
  3. Select the option to remove the relevant device.
  4. The device receives a code. Enter this on the screen then click Continue to complete the process.

You'll receive confirmation of the device's removal. You can now set up 2FA again.
