Modifying tax returns

Summary

Advise on editing tax returns in Sage Accounting.

Description

You’ve discovered an error on a tax return and want to correct it. The available correction method depends on whether you filed the return.

Resolution

Go to Reports, Tax Returns.

NOTE:

You can only edit a tax return if it’s saved as a Draft. 

Edit a Draft tax return

  1. Open the tax return saved as a draft.
  2. Make the required corrections.
  3. Save the updated tax return.

Once you file the tax return, Accounting doesn’t permit you to edit it. You can only record a payment or create an amended tax return.

Delete a Draft tax return

Select the trash can icon to delete it.
