This article explains how to locate a transaction in Sage Business Cloud Accounting
You might find yourself in a scenario where you cannot see the transactions you have previously entered, whether you are looking for them in the Banking, Sales, or Expenses tabs, or also in one of your reports.
Transactions cannot disappear, but there could be different reasons why you cannot find them:
- A Filter has been applied
- You are looking at the wrong date or the wrong type of transaction
- The transaction was never posted or was deleted
- The Invoice Reference you are looking for was never created
There might be different reasons why you cannot see the transactions
Check the filters from the transaction lists or reports:
- By default, the date range on Accounting is automatically set to the current month.
- Make sure you have selected the correct Date range within the date field From and To and hit on Search or Calculate to refresh the list.
- Also, It is possible you entered the transaction for a different date intended: you can delete the date in From and To and leave the field empty to show all transactions.
- Make sure the search box is empty and you are not filtering the transactions by keyword.
- Make sure the filter is not activated. To see if you have filters selected click on More. Make sure to apply All types of transactions.

Check your Audit trail:
You can check whether you ever have entered the transaction or not: you can see all types of transactions recorded and deleted in the Audit trail report, as they were created in chronological order.
Check the different transaction types:
You may have entered Quick entries or Opening Balances instead of Invoices? or Other Payments instead of Purchase invoices?
- Check the Sales/Purchases > Invoices and Quick entries.
- Check the Settings > Opening balances
- Check the Banking activity > Other payments and Other Receipts.
TIP: The best way to search is to check the CONTACT's activity
- select the customer or supplier to pull up their information details
- By default you will land on the "Activity" tab (if not make sure to select it)

- select the date range
- You will see ALL transaction types, including Invoices, Opening balances, Quick Entries, Bank transactions all in one window.
