| Description | You can create your own Data Source Names for your custom Crystal reports, instead of using the default Purchasing (PO) and Inventory (IV) 64-bit DSNs. Use the steps outlined below to create the DSNs. | Resolution | Complete the steps outlined below to create the System DSNs. Ensure that Sage 300 CRE creates the 64-bit System DSNs - Start and then exit both the Purchasing (PO) and Inventory (IV) 300 CRE applications.
- Open ODBC Data Source Administrator (64-bit).
- On the System DSN tab, verify the following DSNs exist for 64-bit.
- Timberline IV Data - referencing data in the POIVData subdirectory of the recent Company Data Folder
- Timberline PO Data – equivalent to Timberline IV Data
- Timberline Office Data IV – referencing Accounting data in the root of the recent Company Data Folder
- Timberline Office Data PO – equivalent to Timberline Office Data IV
- Select the 64-bit DSN you want to mimic for your custom DSN and click Configure.
- Under the Connection Attributes, note the Server Name/IP and the Database Name. You'll use these in a later step.
- Click Cancel.
- Repeat steps 4-6 for the other DSNs if needed.
Create your new 64-bit System DSN - In ODBC Data Source Administrator (64-bit) on the System DSN tab click Add.
- Select Pervasive ODBC Interface and click Finish.
- In the Data Source Name field, enter the name you want to use for this DSN.
- Under the Connection Attributes, enter the Server Name/IP from step 5 in the first section above.
- Click Get List.
- In the Database Name list, select the Database Name from step 5 in the first section above.
- Click Test. Click OK to the “Connection successful!” message.
- Click OK to close the Add window.
- Repeat steps 1-8 for any additional DSNs you need to create.
- Click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator window.
