Conversion

Sage 50 First Step Accounting 2018 and earlier users will only be able to upgrade and convert data to later releases of Sage 50 Pro Accounting or Sage 50 Premium Accounting.

Pro and Premium

Sage 50 Pro Accounting 2026 and Sage 50 Premium Accounting 2026 System Requirements

  • Processor operating at 1.0 GHz or higher (2.0 GHz recommended)
  • 4 GB RAM. Recommended 8 GB RAM
  • 4 GB hard disk space (extra 1 GB needed for installation)
  • A current and up-to-date modern web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge
  • Microsoft® supported 64-bit version of Windows 10 or Windows 11 (with the latest updates from Microsoft; Windows 10 requires paid ESU program enrollment)
  • 256-colour or higher SVGA monitor, minimum resolution of 1024 x 768
  • Internet connection (to download product installation package)
  • Forms that can be sent by email require MAPI or SMTP compliant email client, Internet connection, and email service
  • Word and Excel integration requires Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel 2021 or 2024
  • Sage 50 integration to Microsoft 365 requires Microsoft 365 Business Standard
  • Multi-user (Premium and higher) optimized for Windows 11. Dedicated server recommended: Windows Server 2025, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016. Recommended 16 GB RAM for dedicated server
  • Terminal Services: Windows Server 2025, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016. Recommended 16 GB RAM
  • High-speed Internet connection (for subscribed Sage online services, for example, Remote Data Access)

Conversion

Converts all data from previous versions of Sage 50 starting with Sage 50 Accounting Release 2014.0. However, it isn’t possible to convert to a lower-level version or edition. To convert data from an older version, contact Sage Customer Support.

Microsoft will no longer support Windows 10 effective October 14, 2025, unless you purchase Microsoft's extended security update (ESU) program. If you don’t purchase Microsoft's ESU offering, then Sage will offer limited, software-specific, support of Sage 50 installed on a machine running Windows 10 on or after October 14, 2025. You may be required to update your operating system to a supported version of Microsoft Windows.

Quantum and Accountant Edition

Sage 50 Quantum Accounting 2026 and Sage 50 Accountant Edition 2026 System Requirements

  • Processor operating at 2.0 GHz or higher (Multiple-core processor operating at 2.33 GHz recommended)
  • 4 GB RAM. Recommended 8 GB RAM
  • 4 GB hard disk space (extra 1 GB needed for installation)
  • A current and up-to-date modern web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge
  • Microsoft® supported 64-bit version of Windows 10 or Windows 11 (with the latest updates from Microsoft; Windows 10 requires paid ESU program enrollment*)
