| | How to reverse a customer receipt |
| Resolution | - Go to Receivables/Customers & Sales, then Receipts.
- Select the customer.
- From the top menu, click Receipts, then Include Fully Paid Invoices/Deposits.
- Change the Paid By box to Cash.
- Select the correct Deposit To account.
- Add info to the Receipt No. (for example: NSF, stale-dated, reversed, void,...).
- Change the date to the date your bank reversed the deposit.
- Locate the invoice, then enter the amount as a negative in the Amount Received column.
- Enter any Comment.
- Click Process/Post.
To charge NSF bank fees - Create a new invoice with a separate line item
- Apply the charges to Miscellaneous Revenue in the Account column
- Post a new receipt when the invoice is paid
