Learn how to clear cache in four major browsers: Microsoft Edge, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. Microsoft Edge - Open Microsoft Edge and click the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the browser window.
- From the drop-down menu, select Settings.
- On the left side of the window, click Privacy, search, and services.
- Under the Clear browsing data section, select Choose what to clear.
- Check the box for Cached images and files, then click Clear.
Safari - Open Safari and click Safari in the top menu.
- Select Preferences from the drop-down menu.
- Go to the Advanced tab and check the box that says Show Develop menu in menu bar.
- You will now see a new Develop option in the menu bar. Click it, then select Empty Caches from the drop-down menu.
Mozilla Firefox - Open Firefox and click the three-line icon in the upper right corner of the browser.
- From the drop-down menu, select Options.
- On the left side of the window, select Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section, then click Clear Data.
- Ensure that you check the box for Cached Web Content, then click Clear.
Google Chrome - Open Chrome and click the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the browser.
- From the drop-down menu, select More tools, then Clear browsing data.
- In the next window, select the Basic tab.
- Check the box for Cached images and files.
- You can also choose the time range for which you want to clear cache data.
- After selecting your options, click Clear data.
Remember, clearing your cache will remove some website data, such as login information or site preferences. Make sure you have this information saved elsewhere if needed. |
