Resolution
  1. Ensure you are still in history mode -  How do I exit history mode?
  2. If you have not created a new inventory item, follow : How to create an inventory item
  3. Open the inventory record
  4. Go to the History tab
  5. Enter an Opening Quantity and Opening Value
