About the Sage 100 Contractor API

The Sage 100 Contractor API allows you to insert, delete, modify, or retrieve data from integrated applications such as Sage Estimating (SQL), Sage Paperless Construction, Sage Service Operations, Sage Time, and other partner solutions.

The Sage 100 Contractor API is not a standalone application; it is built into the core program and is automatically included when Sage 100 Contractor is installed.

The Sage 100 Contractor API works quietly in the background and automatically responds whenever an add-on application needs it.

Before You Set Up Integration

1. Create an API Security Group
   Use the 7-2-1 Security Groups window to create a security group for API access.

2. Assign the API Security Group
   Grant this group to users who need integration features in third-party applications.

3. If Field Security Is Enabled
   Do one of the following:

   • Assign all job, proposal, budget, and change order fields to the API security group.
   • OR assign a security group with full access to these fields to all users requiring integration.

Additional Information

• You must be a company administrator to configure security in Sage 100 Contractor.

• Licensing Requirement
  Both the API and Sage 100 Contractor require a license. If no licenses are available, the API will return an alert message.
