| | How do I copy the General Ledger Journal codes from one company folder to another? |
| Resolution | CAUTION: Use caution when working with the below product functionality. Always create a backup of your data before proceeding with advanced solutions. If necessary, seek the assistance of a qualified Sage business partner, network administrator, or Sage customer support analyst.
Note: All users must be out of all applications in both company data folders (the source and destination) in order to perform the Copy Chart of Accounts function and avoid a "file in use" message.
- Open to the data folder that has the journal codes you want to copy.
- In General Ledger, from the Setup menu, select Copy Chart of Accounts.
- In the Look In list, select the new data folder you want to copy the journal codes to. Do not change the default destination file name of MASTER.
- Click Open, and then click Yes.
- In the Copy Records list, select Journal records only, and then click OK.
- Click Ranges to select specific journal codes to copy, and then click OK. Skip this step to copy all your journal codes.
- Click Start.
- To verify the journal codes copied, open to the destination data folder and go to GL Setup, Journals then click List. The journal codes should appear in the list.
