Delete a company code and remove all data for a company
Description

To remove data for specific module applications only, see delete data from a module application.
To copy data from one company to another company, see Copy company data into another company.

 

 

Cause

A copy of company code you create for testing purposes, or as a backup is taking up extra resources.

Resolution

 CAUTION: Deletion of a company code removes all data associated with that company code. This is an irreversible process. 

Delete company code and remove data

 CAUTION: Don't work in the company you're deleting. Work from within another company code. 

  1. Access another company code that you're not deleting.
    • From the Sage 100 Desktop, access the File menu, and select Change Company.
    • Enter the company code that your not deleting.
  2. Open Library Master, Main menu, Company Maintenance.
  3. For Company Code, enter the company code that you’re deleting.
  4. Click Remove.
  5. Click OK prompted with the message: "Warning: Removing individual modules that are integrated with other modules...".
  6. Click the Select All (green check mark) button in the Remove Data window that appears. 
  7. Click Proceed.
  8. Click Yes when prompted with the message: "This will permanently remove the data files...".
  9. Close Company Maintenance.

Delete the company code, then check if the "MAS_XXX" folder still exists in the "..\MAS90" directory. If it does, delete the folder.

Example

You deleted company code DEF following the steps above.  Check for a MAS_DEF folder in the ..\MAS90 directory on the server. Delete the MAS_DEF folder.
