Description
  • Process Monitor or RegMon for Windows (search TechNet for the desired utility)

  • For details, see the explanation on the RegMon for Windows page

"Your Crystal Reports for Sage key code is missing or has expired. Please enter your new Crystal Reports for Sage CD key code"

Cause
Resolution
  1. Run the installation with administrator rights.
  2. If the error persists, check for registry permission issues:
    • Run a registry trace-monitoring utility while Crystal Reports is installing. For example, Process Monitor or RegMon for Windows.
    • Search for Access Denied errors in the trace to identify registry keys with permission issues.
    • Resolve any permissions issues in the registry.
  3. Verify the dll file:
  4. Search for dll on the drive where you have Crystal Reports installed. Common paths:
    • ..\Seagate Software\Shared\keycode.dll (Crystal 8.5)
    • ..\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\bin
    • ..\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.5\Bin (Crystal 10)
    • Note the date stamp of dll
    • Rename the files to old
  5. Restart Crystal Reports outside of Sage 100 ERP:
    • Verify the date stamp is correct (for example, 02/22/2024).
    • If Crystal Reports doesn’t start, confirm that the system created a new dll file. Check its date stamp.
