Install and configure Sage 100 ERP workstation on Windows 8

CAUTION: This solution needs advanced Operating System knowledge. Consult your system administrator for help. Sage isn't liable for issues caused by improper changes to the Windows Registry. Always back up your data before applying advanced solutions.

Install required .NET components

  1. Open Start, then select Control Panel.
  2. Select Programs and Features.
  3. Click Turn Windows features on or off.
  4. Select the following options:
    • .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)
    • .NET Framework 4.5 Advanced Services
  5. Click OK and allow installation to complete.

NOTE:

The workstation installation requires both .NET Framework versions enabled.

 

Sage 100 ERP Standard workstation

  1. Browse to the "..\MAS90\Wksetup" folder through the mapped drive for the Sage 100 share.
    • Example: "X:\..\MAS90\Wksetup".
  2. Right-click Autorun.exe and select Run as administrator, or right-click Sage 100 ERP YYYY Workstation and select Install.
    • Note: Skip to Step 5 if you chose the Sage 100 ERP YYYY Workstation in Step 2.
  3. Click Yes if presented with the User Account Control (request for permissions) dialog box.
  4. Click Install Sage 100 ERP Workstation.
  5. Click Next and follow the Installation Wizard to complete the installation.

Sage 100 ERP Advanced and Premium workstation

  1. Browse to the "..\MAS90\Wksetup" folder using the UNC path to the Sage 100 share.
    • Example: "\\Servername\Shareppoint\..\MAS90\Wksetup"
  2. Right-click Autorun.exe and select Run as administrator, or right-click Sage 100 ERP YYYY Workstation and select Install.
    • Note: Skip to Step 5 if you chose the Sage 100 ERP YYYY Workstation in Step 2.
  3. Click Yes if presented with the User Account Control (request for permissions) dialog box.
  4. Click Install Sage 100 ERP Workstation.
  5. Click Next and follow the Installation Wizard to complete the installation.

Configure Sage 100 ERP to run as administrator

Set compatibility options

  1. Open the Windows 8 Start screen.
  2. Right-click the Sage 100 icon.
  3. Click Open file location from the Options list at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Right-click the Sage 100 shortcut, then select Properties.
  5. Select the Compatibility tab.
  6. Check Run this program as an administrator.
  7. If multiple users exist, select Change settings for all users, then enable the same option.
  8. Click OK to save changes.
