Step 1: Create a new company data set - Click the Windows Start button.
- Select All Programs and locate the Sage BusinessVision Program group.
- Choose Sage BusinessVision New Company and the new company setup will begin.
- You will be prompted to specify a location for the new company, click on the Browse button to specify. If you do not specify the location, it will default to C:\BusinessVision\Newco.
- When prompted for the Chart of Account option, choose "Select a predefined Chart of Accounts" and click Next.
- Select "Standard" for the Chart of Accounts type and click Next.
- The setup will begin, click Finish when complete.
Note: The new company setup can be started by clicking Newco.exe in the BusinessVision program folder. Step 2: Amending the company to BusinessVision Once the new company has been created, you must add it to the BusinessVision Company Selection list. - Start BusinessVision and log into any existing company.
- Once logged in, select File and then Company Selection from the menu.
- You will be returned to the Company Selection List but will be presented with additional options at the bottom of the list.
- Select the Amend button.
- Select Open.
- Browse the folder of the new company created earlier, locate the file Bvcon.fil and open it.
- Click on Add to add the company to the company selection list at the Open Control File prompt.
- Click Close to return to the Company Selection List. The new company is now on the list for logon.
