• The Sage 50 update has new files that Windows Firewall doesn't recognize.
• The update installed a new version of the MySQL Connector ODBC.
• You haven't installed the update on the server.

Move the company file in another location

1. Move the SAI file and SAJ folder to another location.
2. Don’t put the company file in the temporary folder C:\Temp.
3. Try to open the company file again.

Manually authorize each new Sage 50 files

1. Allow Sage 50 processes through the firewall.
2. Verify that you can now open your company.

Automatically update the Windows Firewall

1. Uninstall Sage 50.
2. Open the Control Panel then Programs & Features.
3. Right-click Sage 50 Accounting and select Uninstall.
4. Install Sage 50 by browsing to C:\Sage\.
5. Open the latest Sage 50 installation folder (which usually has the year in it).
6. During the Sage 50 installation, Sage 50 will offer the choice to update your firewall automatically.
7. Click Yes.

Install the latest update on the Server

1. Install the latest update on the Server.
2. Verify that you can now open your company.
