Set the network profile to Private on all computers

  1. Click the network icon in the notification area and select your network.
  2. Click Properties (if Wi-Fi) or click again the network name (if Ethernet).
  3. Set the network profile to Private.
  4. Close this settings page.

Change the sharing settings on all computers

  1. In the Windows Start menu, type “sharing”.
  2. In the list of results, click Manage advanced sharing settings.
  3. Under Private (current profile) settings, enable Turn on network discovery and Turn on file and printer sharing.
  4. Under All Networks settings, enable Turn off password-protected sharing.
  5. Click Save Changes and close the window.

Create a shared folder on the host computer

  1. Create a new folder called “Sage 50 data” at the root of the C: drive and move your data files (SAI file + SAJ folder) there.
  2. Right-click this folder and click Properties.
  3. Open the Sharing tab and click Share.
  4. Select all users that need access and click Add.
  5. Set the permission level to Read/Write.
  6. Click Share, then click Done.
  7. Click Advanced Sharing.
  8. Tick the Share this folder box.
  9. Click Permissions, select Everyone, and tick the box to allow Full Control.
  10. Click OK, then click OK again, and close the window.
