| | Install and / or Upgrade Sage Estimating (SQL) |
| Resolution | Important information - The installation process can restart your computer during the installation. Ensure you close all programs and applications before starting the installation to avoid losing any data. If your computer restarts, log on to your computer again.
- If you upgrade data from a previous version of Estimating, the process can take hours. This depends on the size of your databases. Plan accordingly.
- Confirm that you have sufficient hard disk space available to install Sage Estimating.
- Don’t install previous releases of Sage 300 CRE after installing Sage Estimating. The new licensing system is incompatible with previous releases.
Before you install - Download the Sage Estimating installation files according to the software notice instructions.
- Save the Sage Estimating installation files in a location that all workstations can access.
- Copy the installation files to each workstation where you want to install Sage Estimating.
Installation - At the workstation or server, log on with full administrative rights.
- Double-click the SetMeUp.exe file in your local Sage Estimating Install folder. You designated this location when you downloaded the installation files.
- Click Yes to the User Account Control prompt to allow changes to the computer.
- Read the terms of the Sage License Agreement, and then click Accept to accept them.
- On the Sage Estimating installation window that appears, select Install Sage Estimating.
- Selecting this option alone installs the Sage Estimating software and support components.
- If you're only using Sage Estimating for trial purposes, or configuring it for a single user, you can use SQL Server Express.
- For large databases and multi-user configurations, we recommend implementing Estimating with a standard version of SQL Server.
- Follow the remaining steps as prompted by the installation process.
- Repeat steps 1-7 for each workstation or server where you want to install Sage Estimating.
