| How to prepare and print T4 Slips and Summary |
Resolution | NOTE: You’ll need an active Sage Business Care plan to print T4 slips and summaries. Set up T4 printing - Go to Setup, Reports and Forms.
- Select Government Forms, Federal Payroll.
- Under both T4 Slips Printer Settings and T4 Summary Printer Settings: Set Form Type to Plain-Paper laser & inkjet form.
- Select OK.
Select the employees to receive a T4 - Go to Reports, Payroll, T4 Slips and Summary.
- Mark the box for Include inactive employees to print a T4 for terminated employees.
- Individually select the employees you wish to print T4s for or click the Select All.
- Select the year you’re printing T4s.
- You have the option to print the T4s or upload them to Sage HR.
- Select Upload to Sage HR if your company is connected to Sage HR.
- This option allows employees to view and download their T4s from Sage HR
- Select Print if your company isn't connected to Sage HR
T4 Summary Business Information tab - Enter the Payroll Account Number.
- Select the Type of Business.
- Enter the SIN number in Owner/Partner SIN.
- Click the T4 Summary Contact Information tab.
- Enter the Contact Name.
- Enter the Area Code and Phone Number. Enter in Ext if applicable.
- In Position or Office, enter the person certifying the return.
- Click OK.
T4 box options - For each applicable payroll Income and Deduction:
- Select the box number to print the amount to in T4 by clicking the dropdown list
- Leave blank if you don't want the amounts to print for a specific payroll Income or Deduction
- Click OK.
- T4 Summary screen will appear.
- Edit amounts for Employers' CPP Contributions, Employers' EI Contributions, and Other Payments if applicable.
- Click Print.
NOTE: Follow these steps if T4s don’t print.
