The company uses departments

  1. Go to Setup, Settings, General, Departments.
  2. Click the Assign Accounts button.
  3.  Review the Accounts that use this department window for each department.
    • Make sure that the 3000 level accounts are on the list. 
  4. Click OK to save changes.
  5. Try advancing to the new year.

Check linked accounts

  1. Go to Setup, Settings, General, Linked Accounts.
  2. If there's an error message.
    • Some departments aren’t assigned to a retained earning account
    • Re-add the departments to the retained earnings
    • Save the settings
