Error: "You are not currently set up as a user of the selected Estimating server" (Windows Username changed) (SQL)
Description

Cause

The databases file from one instance of SQL were copied to another instance of SQL and manually created (outside of using EMC to backup and restore).

The User name was changed. (Like Domain\Username to Domain\Username001)

Resolution
CAUTION: The following procedure requires in-depth knowledge of database engines for your Sage product, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Pervasive SQL, and MySQL. Sage can't assist with database administration and isn't responsible for errors resulting from database changes. Back up your system and application databases required for a complete restore. Consider contacting a certified consultant or your database administrator for assistance.

Important: You need at least one user with the Administrator role to connect to the instance.

Note: Before you make any changes to a database, always make sure you have a backup

For each user that is getting the errors:

  1. Delete the unwanted users from the Estimating Management Console
  2. In Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
    1. Delete the unwanted users from all databases (Database \ Database Name \ Security \ Users)
    2. Delete the unwanted users from the Logins (Security \Logins)
  3. Create new usernames in Windows
  4. Add the new users in the Estimating Management Console
